Crawford Named to The American Preseason All-Conference First Team

Tulsa picked 4th in the Coaches' Poll

IRVING, Texas – As the American Athletic Conference Media Day gets underway Sunday afternoon, the league announced its preseason coaches' poll and all-conference teams. Tulsa senior Delanie Crawford was named to the AAC first team as selected by the league's coaches.
 
Crawford and junior teammate Hadley Periman, along with fourth-year Head Coach Angie Nelp are representing Tulsa at The American Media Days on Sunday at 4 p.m. Central.
 
A guard from Piedmont, Okla., Crawford is coming off a tremendous 2023-24 season where she started in all 35 games and averaged 19.0 points (665), 5.7 rebounds (201), 2.7 assists (95) and 1.1 steals (39) per contest. She finished 33 games with 10 or more points, 15 games over 20 points, and three games scoring over 30. On defense, she added five double-figure rebounding contests to earn five double-doubles.
 
In her career, Crawford has started in 68 of 92 career contests, has six double-doubles, 59 double-figure scoring games, 16 20-point scoring contests, three games over 30 points and six double-digit rebounding games. She has career averages of 13.0 points (1,195), 5.0 rebounds (459) and 2.6 assists (240)
 
In the preseason coaches' poll, the Hurricane was picked fourth in the 13-team league, tying the program's highest selection to the AAC's poll in 2022-23. South Florida was picked first, followed by North Texas and AAC Tournament champion Rice. Behind Tulsa is UTSA, ECU, Memphis, Temple, UAB, Tulane, Charlotte, Wichita State and Florida Atlantic.
 
The Golden Hurricane women will start their season at home Nov. 6 in the Donald W. Reynolds Center against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. 2024-25 tip-off times will be announced next week.
