Tulsa’s Alex Cunningham Named AAC Freshman of the Week

TULSA, Okla. –– Defender Alex Cunningham was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday. It is his first weekly award of the season.
Cunningham was a part of a Golden Hurricane defense that allowed two goals and just four shots on target over 180 minutes last week. He also scored his first career goal on a backheeled shot early in the second half that led to a 1-1 draw with Central Arkansas. The Springfield, Mo. native played every minute in Tulsa's two games and has played in all but 33 minutes this season.
The Tulsa men return home to face a Charlotte team with just one loss this season. Kickoff against the 49ers is set for 7 p.m. on Friday night. The game will air on ESPN+.
