Hosting the Cougars
  • This is the first-ever meeting between the Tulsa women and Chicago State.
  • The Cougars are 0-8 to start the year. They have had a tough nonconference stretch, taking on teams like Iowa State, Butler, Florida, Arizona and Oklahoma State.
  • CSU is currently facing with a -40.1 scoring margin. Their closest loss came to Northern Illinois, 77-68.
  • Chicago State is coming off a 1-26 record in 2023-24 ... they are 1-34 in their last 35 games.
  • Corry Irvin took over the program in April ... she has a 26-year high school and collegiate coaching career ... she was previously an assistant coach at Mississippi State, where she helped lead the nationally ranked Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament.
  • CSU returned five players from last year's roster. Sophomore transfer Asha Walker leads the team in scoring (11.1 ppg for 89 points) while returner Josie Hill paces the Cougars in rebounds (5.6 rpg for 39 boards).

Dynamic Crawford Scores and Boards
  • It's no surprise that returning All-American senior Delanie Crawford is Tulsa's scoring leader through the first five games.
  • The multi-level scorer has reached double-figure points in all but one game, peaking with 26 points against Marshall (11/23) in the WBCA Showcase, her 17th career 20+ scoring game.
  • This season, Crawford is averaging 16.0 points off 4.8 FG, 2.2 3PT and 4.2 FT per game.
  • She's shooting .320 from the field (24-75), .289 in threes (11-38) and .840 at the charity stripe (21-25).
  • Crawford has also emerged as the rebound leader for the Hurricane, averaging 5.4 boards for 27 total on the season so far.

Hill Stepping up on Offense
  • Returning sophomore guard Elise Hill has scored in double-figures in six of her last eight games for the Golden Hurricane, including in her first three career starts this season and last time out against Marshall (11/23).
  • She had 12 points in the season-opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, scored 12 more in a team-leading effort at Missouri State (11/10), scored 12 again against ORU (11/17) and had a season-high 13 points against Marshall (11/23).
  • She led back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts in the first two rounds of the WBIT last season, including a career-high 18 points against Arkansas.

TCU Transfers Shine on Defense
  • Redshirt junior Paige Bradley and sophomore Jade Clack, transfers from TCU, have stepped up on defense in the first five games for TU.
  • Clack (4.6 rpg for 23 boards) and Bradley (4.4 rpg for 22 boards) each rank among Tulsa's top three rebounders.
  • Bradley brought down a career-high 10 rebounds against Marshall (11/23), helping her get her first double-double.
  • Clack averages a block per game with five total on the season.

TU is Winning the Turnover Margin
  • Tulsa is handling the ball well through the first three games of the season with a +2.8 turnover margin per game, the second-highest among all American Athletic Conference teams so far.
  • Opponents have turned the ball over 100 times compared to Tulsa's 86.
  • The turnover battle has been largely due to TU's ability to steal the ball, out-stealing opponents 46-36.

Deadly Free Throw Shooters
  • Tulsa has been very effective at the line, thanks in part to The American's top two free throw shooters in Mady Cartwright and Delanie Crawford.
  • Cartwright is 16-18 for an .889 mark while Crawford is right behind at .840 after shooting 21-25.
  • Cartwright has had two perfect games from the stripe, including a 4-4 mark in the season-opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (11/6) and an impressive 8-8 tally against Marshall (11/23), Tulsa's 14th-ever perfect free throw game when making over eight free throws.
  • Crawford had an 8-9 game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and a 5-5 contest against Georgia (11/21).
  • Paige Bradley is 8-9 (.889) on the year in free throws at 1.6 per contest ... she is just outside the threshold of 2.5 FT per game to be ranked in the league.
  • Together, they have helped Tulsa ranked third in the conference with a team free throw average of .685.

Crawford Climbing the Career Charts
  • Delanie Crawford through 97 career games in four seasons with the Hurricane has appeared in numerous top 10 career charts in program history.
  • She ranks third in three-pointers made with 195 ... she has a chance to set the team record this season as she is just 27 treys behind Kara Pongonis-Paslay's (2002-06) 222 and 38 behind Kelsee Grovey's (2012-16) 233.
  • Crawford is also ninth in career points (1,275) and field goals made (430).
  • She is the fastest player in program history to reach 400 career field goals, achieving the feat in just 91 games.
