Tulsa Track Heads to Birmingham for American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships

TULSA, Okla. — It's that time of year again as the Tulsa track teams head to Birmingham, Ala., for the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships spanning Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. The Golden Hurricane will send 23 athletes—13 women and 10 men—to race in 12 initial events.

Both days of the event will stream on ESPN+. Fans unable to attend the action in person can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane track, tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and basketball games. The distance events will feature the biggest groups from Tulsa's rosters. The women's team will have Robyn Kowalski, Chloe Hershenow, Tamara Reeves, Alicen Ashley and Ailey Mitchell race in Friday's 5,000-meter run. These five student-athletes will also compete in Saturday's 3,000-meter run and will be joined by Amy Morefield and Katharina Pesendorfer.

For the men, James Knockton, Malte Propp, Chris McLeod, Shay McEvoy and Charlie Krasnoff headline the 5,000-meters. This contingent will also appear in the 3,000-meter run, which will include Chanel Muir, Christian Baker, and Jaden Forester.

Both teams will have a distance medley relay squad, and the women will also have a 4x400-meter relay.

On the short-distance side, Elizabeth Roca and Evan Sanni-Thomas will look to make an impact in their respective 400-meter dashes, while Sarah Hosey and Billie Rouse are set to race in the women's 800-meters. All short and medium-distance events up to the mile will have preliminary rounds on Friday. The top eight finishers in each event will move on to Saturday's final rounds.
