Tulsa Golfers Back in Action at the Chevron Collegiate

TULSA, Okla. –– Coming off a spring-opening team championship at the Nexus Collegiate, the Tulsa women golfers will be back in action at the 2024 Chevron Collegiate, Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 26-27.

The 16-team field will play the par-72, 6392-yard Golf Club of Houston course. The field includes host Houston, Furman, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, North Texas, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UNLV and UTSA.

On the first day, golfers will play two rounds of 18 holes before closing out the tournament with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

In its first spring tournament, Tulsa overcame an eight-stroke deficit on the final day of competition to capture the Nexus Collegiate Team Championship with rounds of 298-289-292 for a 15-over par score of 879.

Tulsa placed three individuals among the top-11, including sophomores Jenni Roller and Grace Kilcrease and redshirt freshman Allyn Stephens. Roller finished in sixth place with a 1-over par 217 after her second straight round of 72. Stephens had Tulsa's best round of the day with a 2-under par 70 for a 3-over par final tally of 219 for ninth place, while Kilcrease was 1-over 73 for an 11th-place finish.

On the year, Kilcrease leads Tulsa with a 71.9 stroke average with four top-20 performances, while Stephens is next with a 72.1 average and two top-10 finishes. Roller and junior Sydney Seigel also have sub-73 averages with Roller shooting 72.3 and Seigel 72.6. Roller also has two top-10 finishes and Seigel has placed among the top-15 in two of four tournament appearances this year.

Tulsa's lineup this week includes Roller, Stephens, Kilcrease, Lovisa Gunnar and Seigel.
