Tulsa Women Host Georgetown Sunday in WBIT Second Round

TULSA, Okla. –– Following first round wins in the WBIT on Thursday, Tulsa and Georgetown advanced to second round play this Sunday, March 24, as the Golden Hurricane will host the Hoyas in a 2 p.m. (CT) game at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tulsa advanced early Thursday night with an 80-62 home victory over Arkansas, and later in the pacific northwest Georgetown took down the No. 2-seed Washington Huskies by a score of 64-56.

WBIT Second Round game tickets are priced at $15 for adults and $10 for youth (ages 2-12). To purchase tickets, fans can go online at TulsaHurricane.com or can purchase by phone or in-person. Fans can order tickets by phone at 918.631-4688 or in person at the TU athletic ticket office from 8:30-5 p.m. Friday. On Sunday, the ticket office will begin selling tickets at 12:30 p.m.

Tulsa improved to 24-9 on the season with the win over the Lady Razorbacks, while Georgetown comes in with an overall record of 23-11. The Hoyas finished the Big East Conference season with a 9-9 record, a league that saw nine teams make postseason play, including four in the WBIT.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Tulsa and Georgetown in women's basketball.

Second Round winners will advance to the Quarterfinal Round on Thursday, March 28, on a campus site with four teams advancing to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University for the semifinals on Monday, April 1. The WBIT will conclude with the inaugural championship game on Wednesday, April 3.

All second round and quarterfinal round WBIT games will be televised on ESPN+, while the semifinals will be on ESPNU, and the finals will be on ESPN2. Additional WBIT information can be found on ncaa.com/WBIT.
