Tulsa Earns Three Wins at WashU Distance Carnival and Stanford Invitational

ST. LOUIS, Mo. & PALO ALTO, Calif. — In its first action in three weeks, the Tulsa track team saw good results from multiple student-athletes, starting early Friday morning at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis and wrapping it up at the Stanford Invitational in the early morning hours on Saturday. The Golden Hurricane came away with one win and four new personal bests at WashU to go with two victories and six new career marks at Stanford.

Women
Representing the Tulsa women in St. Louis were sophomores Sarah Hosey and Billie Rouse in the 1,500-meter run, where Hosey would cruise to a career-best 4:31.73 to win the race over 23 other competitors, while Rouse finished ninth in 4:36.03.

Senior Chloe Hershenow was the lone Tulsa woman at the Stanford Invitational, finishing 22nd in the second section of the women's 5,000-meters in 16:46.97.

Men
278 total competitors divided into 10 total sections made up the men's 5,000-meter run at the WashU Distance Carnival. Redshirt sophomore Luke Lambert would take 22nd overall in 14:37.83 in his first career outdoor 5K, and junior teammate Colton Berquist finished 131st in 15:47.81.

In California, junior Jaden Forester got his outdoor season started with a victory in section No. 6 of the men's 5,000-meters, claiming a new personal best along the way in 14:07.35. Other 5,000-meter runners for Tulsa included senior Christian Baker and freshman James Knockton, who crossed the finish line seventh and 14, respectively in the fourth section.

In the last event of the day in the early morning hours of Saturday, Tulsa grabbed three top-five finishes in the second section of the 10,000-meter run, led by senior Shay McEvoy, who placed first in 28:36.11, followed by senior Malte Propp's 28:40.13 finish for third and redshirt junior Chris McLeod's fourth-place finish in 28:40.83. All three Tulsa veterans set new personal bests in the event.
