MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Golden Hurricane softball team opens its conference schedule with a weekend series at Memphis, starting with a Saturday doubleheader at the Tigers Softball Complex.

Originally scheduled to begin Friday, incoming inclement weather forced a postponement of the first of three games. The teams decided on a doubleheader Saturday with Sunday's finale still set for the same time. Now, Tulsa (12-7, 0-0 AAC) and Memphis (3-16, 0-0 AAC) will play at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon Sunday. The Sunday game will air on ESPN+.

Tulsa holds a 41-11 advantage in the all-time series against the Tigers, including a 16-5 record on the road. TU took two of three against Memphis a season ago, but the Tigers did take the season finale. However, the Hurricane is winners of 12 of the last 15 in the series.

Through 19 games, Tulsa is batting .345 as a program with a .530 slugging percentage. The pitching is holding opponents to .262 at the plate and a .404 slugging percentage. The Hurricane has also recorded 109 RBIs while holding opposition to just 71.

TU is among the nation's best with extra base hits. The Hurricane sits second in the conference and nationally for doubles, smashing 43 in 19 games. Tulsa also has 11 triples and leads the conference with 0.58 triples per game, which is third best in the nation. Three Hurricane feature in the top 100 nationally for doubles. Claira Skaggs is ninth and second in The American with nine doubles. Abby Jones has eight doubles and ranks fourth in the AAC and 25th in the NCAA. Celeste Wood has picked up six doubles, which ranks fifth and 74th. Kennedy Cramer's three triples is good for second in the conference and seventh in the country.

After going 3-1 in the TU/OSU Invite, Tulsa has four batters hitting above .350, led by MacKenzie Denson, who is batting .469 on the season. Imani Edwards is hitting .444 with a team-high 16 RBIs. Jones has a .387 batting average and Skaggs is batting .379.

Memphis has lost three straight after going 2-3 last week. The Tigers started the weekend 2-0, which extended their win streak to three games before losing the final two matchups of its second consecutive home tournament. Most recently, the Tigers welcomed Ole Miss for a midweek matchup, losing 9-0. This weekend's hosts are 3-7 at home and will have played at home in 13 straight games by the end of the series.

After this weekend, Tulsa welcomes Iowa State for a Tuesday evening meeting. Then, the Golden Hurricane hosts South Florida at the Collins Family Softball Complex for the first home conference weekend of the season. All three games against the Bulls will air on ESPN+.
