
Tulsa Golfers End Season in 26th Place at NCAA Championship; Kilcrease Moves on to Chase Individual Title

CARLSBAD, Calif. –– The Tulsa women golfers ended a successful season on Sunday at the NCAA Championship as the Golden Hurricane finished in a 26th place tie on the par 72 La Costa Champions Course in Carlsbad, California.
Tulsa's Grace Kilcrease's 21st place finish after three rounds advances her into the fourth-round competition on Monday, as the top nine players not on advancing teams will move to the final stroke play round to compete for the NCAA individual title.
The Hurricane shot a third-round score of 308 to finish with a 54-hole total score of 913, tying with North Carolina.
The top 15 teams advanced to the fourth round of stroke play on Monday, while the top eight from that group will move on to match-play competition. The 15 teams moving on include Texas A&M (854), Stanford (855), LSU (863), Clemson (866), Northwestern (873), UCLA (874), Oregon (876), Auburn (876), Arkansas (877), Southern Cal (878), Duke (883), Wake Forest (884), Mississippi State (885), Texas (887) and Florida State (889).
The individual leader is Texas A&M's Adela Cernousek at 12-under 204, six strokes ahead of the second-place Lottie Woad of Florida State.
The tournament was Tulsa's second straight NCAA Finals appearance and 29th showing at the national championship event.
Kilcrease finished the first 54 holes with a 2-over 218 total score. The sophomore turned in her second straight day of 1-under par 71 as she knocked in two birdie putts with just one bogey.
Sydney Seigel carded Tulsa's second-best round of the day with a 77 for a 225 score and 71st place. Fellow junior Lovisa Gunnar finished in 132nd place with a score of 235 after shooting an 81 today.
Redshirt freshman Allyn Stephens and sophomore Jenni Roller placed 140th and 146th, respectively. Stephens ended with a total score of 237 and Roller ended the tournament at 240.
For the season, Tulsa won two tournament events, the Dale McNamara Invitational and the Nexus Collegiate, while finishing among the top-5 in five additional tournaments.
