Tulsa Golfers in Fifth Place Tie Heading into Final Day at NCAA Auburn Regional

Kilcrease and Seigel among top-10 individuals

AUBURN, Ala. –– The Tulsa women golfers will head into Wednesday's final round at the NCAA Auburn Regional seeking to finish among the top-5 finishers and advance to the NCAA Championship Finals.

On Tuesday, Tulsa carded a second straight day of 298 and sits in a fifth-place tie with Georgia at 20-over par 596 on the par-72, 6,456-yard Auburn University Club course.

Host and seventh-ranked Auburn has a firm hold on the lead with a 1-over par 577 score through two rounds. Six teams will enter Wednesday's final round within seven strokes of each other to qualify for the final four automatic spots to the NCAA Championship. Houston is at 15-over par 591, followed by North Carolina (592), Oregon (595), Tulsa and Georgia (596) and South Carolina (598) to round out the top seven teams entering final round action.

Teeing off on hole 10 to start the day, Tulsa turned in an 11-over par score through their first nine holes while shooting 1-under par for their final nine holes.

Tulsa sophomore Grace Kilcrease and junior Sydney Seigel still are among the top-10 individuals. Kilcrease turned in Tulsa's best round of the day with her second straight 1-over par 73 and sits in ninth place with a 146 total score. Seigel scored a 3-over par 75 for a 36-hole total of 147 for a 10th place tie.

Redshirt freshman Allyn Stephens turned in a 2-over par 74, improving four strokes from her first-round score. Stephens closed the day strong with two birdies on hole 7 and 8 for a 2-under par score on her final nine holes after playing her first nine holes at 4-over par.

Stephens and Lovisa Gunnar are tied for 31st place with scores of 8-over par 152, while Jennie Roller is tied for 50th at 159.

In addition to Stephens' shooting 2-under par on her final nine holes, Kilcrease was 1-under on the back nine after a +2 on her first nine holes and Gunnar was also 1-under par on her last nine holes after finishing her first nine at 5-over par. After going 6-over par through the first seven holes, Gunnar rebounded with four straight birdie putts on holes 18, 1, 2 and 3.

Final round action on Wednesday as the top-5 teams will advance to the NCAA Championship, May 17-22, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
