PARIS, France — University of Tulsa rowing alumnus and U.S. Olympian Michelle Sechser and her teammate Molly Reckford have an opportunity to bring home America's next gold medal after advancing to the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They will race Friday, Aug. 2, in the "A" Final at 5:22 a.m. CT or 12:22 p.m. local time.

Sechser and Reckford qualified for the finals with a top three flight finish by crossing the line third in the first of two semifinal heats with a time of 7:05.03. The duo has worked hard to return to this point after narrowly missing the podium by five-tenths of a second in the lightweight double sculls final of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The "A" Final will include teams from Ireland, Greece, Great Britain, Romania, New Zealand and the United States.

Fellow TU alumna Jennifer Casson, representing Canada, will participate in the "B" Final at 4:18 a.m. CT/11:18 a.m. local.
