
Tulsa to Host McNeese on Sunday

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa women's soccer team (1-1-1) is set to host the McNeese Cowgirls (1-2) in the second home game of the season and fourth contest of the year. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium.

This will be the third meeting all-time between the Golden Hurricane and McNeese. Tulsa won the first two contests in the series in 2008 and 2015 in Tulsa, both 3-0 victories.
The Cowgirls are 1-2-0 to start the year. Last time out, they fell in a 0-1 decision at Oral Roberts on Thursday. Their first win came in a 2-1 winner over Jackson State
Last year, the Cowgirls went 9-8-4 and reached the Southland Conference Championship title match as the three-seed, falling to No. 1 Lamar 3-1. McNeese was chosen to finish third in the SLC and returned 22 players from last season, including three All-Southland Team selections in Kaile Kukaua, Jackie Kelly, and Morgan Schooley.
Hannah Chance has made a noticeable impact on the Hurricane offense since transferring from Oklahoma State over the summer. So far this season, she has taken command of the offensive attack with two goals and two assists for a team-leading six points. She is tied for first in The American with Rachel Roebuck (UNT) and Leah Chancey (Rice) in shots (9) and shots per game (9). Chance is also second in the league in points (6), third for goals (2) and third for points per game (2), third for goals per game (0.67).
Chance has found the poles often, recording nine total shots and seven on goal. Through two starts and three games played, she holds a .222 shot percentage and .228 shots on goal percentage. For her performance in the first week of the season, she was named to the Aug. 19 American Athletic Conference Honorable Mention list.
