TULSA, Okla. — The women's soccer edition of the Mayor's Cup has arrived as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-1-1) will head across town to the Case Soccer Complex to take on the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (1-3-0) on their home field Thursday night at 6 p.m.

This will be the 32nd meeting in the 36-year rivalry between the two teams. Tulsa has dominated the overall series 21-5-6 with wins in seven of the last nine meetings. The Hurricane is 10-2-3 when playing ORU on the road and is 2-1-0 against the Golden Eagles under Head Coach Jim Rhein.

Oral Roberts is 1-3-0 to start the year with losses on the road to Texas A&M-Commerce, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. The Golden Eagles' lone win came at home against a McNeese squad that TU dismantled 6-0 on Sunday.

Two of ORU's three goals on the season have come off the foot of Marcella Alves, a senior midfielder in her first year of action. Goalkeeper Alexa Riefer has been busy through four starts with nine goals allowed and 25 saves, the nation's 11th-highest mark.

Tulsa has showcased remarkable chemistry through four games. As a team, TU is sixth in the nation in assists (16) and 14th in assists per game (4). A large part of that has been due to the stellar play by junior forward Jordan Frederick. A Bixby, Okla. native, Frederick is the only player in the country to have five assists under her belt after recording three in Tulsa's 6-0 blowout over McNeese and two in the season opener against Central Arkansas.

True freshman forward Blaine Schutte has also appeared in the scoring sheet multiple times for TU having put away three goals so far in four games, which ranks third in the American Athletic Conference and 25th in the nation.
