Tulsa Women Set to Host Arkansas-Pine Bluff

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa women's soccer team (2-1-2) will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff Sunday at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium in a home doubleheader with the Golden Hurricane men's team. The women play first at 3 p.m., and the men are slated for a 7 p.m. start against Cal Poly.

Tulsa is undefeated against the UAPB Golden Lions, boasting a perfect 3-0 record. The Hurricane has hosted the Lions twice, both games ending in 7-0 shutouts for TU in 2021 and 2022.
 
UAPB is 1-1-0 to start the year. They dropped their season opener 9-0 at ULM and beat Central Baptist 4-0 on Thursday. Junior forward Ashley McGuire is the Lions' top scorer with two goals and one assist for five points.
 
Junior forward Jordan Frederick entered the week leading the country in total assists with five.
She is tied with four other players in all of Division I at this stage of the season. Frederick is also third in the nation for assists per game, averaging one per contest. Her speed and agility have allowed her to take multiple shots and find open teammates in prime scoring positions in enemy territory.
 
As a team, Tulsa is eighth in the country for total assists (16), 12th for total points (44), 15th for total goals (14), 18th for assists per game (3.20), 24th for points per game (8.80) and 27th in goal differential (8).
