How It Happened

SET 1 | Tulsa stuck around early in the first set, tying up the frame at 1-1 and 4-4 before Kansas took control at 5-4 and never allowed TU to contest the lead again. The Jayhawks hit for a match-high .480 and held Tulsa to .030. OH Beth Bayless, MB Arianna Mongare and OH Lauren Eitler each had two kills in the set as Kansas went ahead 1-0 with a 25-13 final opening-set score.

SET 2 | Set two was the tightest set in the match as both teams battled through 12 tie scores and four lead changes. The stanza was tied as late as 18-18, but a well-placed Kansas timeout reset the momentum as the Jayhawks 7-4 to win 25-22 and take a 2-0 advantage in the match. It was Tulsa's best showing of the night, hitting for .316 off 14 kills to just two errors in 38 attempts. OH Lauren Eitler recorded four kills and L Marta Pecalli put up six digs.

SET 3 | Kansas put the game in cruise control in the third and final set, winning the first rally and never looking back on the way to a 25-10 finish for the three-set sweep. The defense of the Jayhawks stifled any opportunity to score by Tulsa, holding the Hurricane to a negative hitting percentage while notching 10 kills and five blocks.
