Women’s Cross Country Travels to Wichita for JK Gold Classic

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa women's cross country team will drive north to Wichita, Kan., to compete in Wichita State's 76th Annual JK Gold Classic Saturday morning, Sept. 7. The 5K race will commence at 9 a.m. at the Clapp Cross Country Course.
 
Racing in Saturday's meet for the Golden Hurricane will be Alicen Ashley, Chloe Hershenow, Robyn Kowalski, Sophia McNerney, Ailey Mitchell, Amy Morefield, Billie Rouse and McKenna Terrell.
 
Tulsa will be joined by the hosting Shockers, North Texas, Division II programs Rockhurst, Newman, Fort Hays State, Washburn and five other teams from the NAIA and Community College levels.
 
A week ago, Kowalski paced the women's team with a 10:46.098 finish for eighth place on the 3K course at the OSU Cowboy Preview. Morefield was close behind in 10:46.508. Sophia McNerney, a junior transfer from Tulane, will see her first cross country action for the Hurricane.
