Nelp, Cartwright and Jegede to Represent Tulsa Women’s Hoops at American Tipoff

IRVING, Texas – Head Women's Basketball Coach Angie Nelp, returning junior Mady Cartwright and Northeastern transfer Abby Jegede will represent the Tulsa women's basketball team at the 2025-26 American Tipoff, held Sunday and Monday, October 12-13, at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
Team rotations will begin at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday and will continue Monday morning with a show on ESPN+ hosted by Maria Trivelpiece, Mike O'Donnell and Brooke Weisbrod, featuring student-athletes and coaches from all 26 American teams.
 
Live coverage of the 2025 Tipoff on ESPN+ will start Monday morning with an opening message from Commissioner Tim Pernetti at 8:15 a.m. CT. The Tulsa women's segment will air at 10:30 a.m. right after the Tulsa men's window at 10:20.

Nelp enters her fifth season leading the Golden Hurricane. In four seasons, she has compiled a 76-49 record for the third-most wins by coach in program history. She has won the most games of any Tulsa coach in their first four seasons and is the first coach in program history to post winning records in every season at TU. She's also the only coach to lead Tulsa to three postseasons and post 10 or more home wins in three consecutive seasons.
 
Cartwright begins her junior season at Tulsa in 2025-26. A preseason second-team all-conference choice, she averaged of 10.5 points (336), 3.6 rebounds (116), 1.9 assists (61) and 1.5 steals (47) in 27.0 minutes per game last season.
 
Jegede, a redshirt junior, started in 24 of 25 games played for the Northwestern Huskies a year ago, where she averaged 15.6 points (375), 4.4 rebounds (105) and 1.5 assists (35) in 34.9 minutes per outing. She landed double-figure points in all but five games.
