Tulsa Cross Country Teams Ready for Final Tune Up Before American Championships

Tulsa, Okla. — The Tulsa men's and women's cross country teams hit the course for the final time on October 17, before they head off to the American Championships in just over three weeks. The women are set to travel to College Station, Texas for the Arturo Barrios Invitational while men head north for the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.
The women's 6K is underway at 9:15 a.m., while the men's 8K race gets going at 12:30 p.m. Central.
Tulsa is one of 37 teams set to compete at the Arturo Barrios Invitational. Representing the Golden Hurricane will be Sarah Hosey, Evyn Humphrey, Katie Koonts, Robyn Kowalski, Matilda Laidlaw, Anna Lester, Ailey Mitchell, Sara Morefield, and Bille Rouse. They'll race at the Watts Cross Country Course against Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Baylor, Houston, Incarnate Word, Lamar, LeTourneau, Louisiana, LSU, McNeese State, Mercer, Middle Tennessee, Nelson University, New Mexico State, New Orleans, Nicholls, North Dakota, North Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Our Lake of the Lake, Rice, Sam Houston, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, TCU, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas Tech, UT Arlington, UTRGV, UTEP, UTSA, Wake Forest, and host school Texas A&M.
Up in Madison, Luke Birdseye, Ben Brown, James Knockton, Sean Korsmo, Charlie Krasnoff, Luke Lambert, Shay McEvoy, Graham Mitchell, Joseph O'Connell, Levi Rowan, and Joseph Stoddard are scheduled to run for the men. The Golden Hurricane are one of 32 schools set to compete in the event hosted by Wisconsin, joining BYU, Butler, CBU, Colorado, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, Furman, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Harvard, Indiana, Iona, Iowa State, Lipscomb, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Northern Arizona, Notre Dame, Portland, Stanford, Syracuse, Tulane, Utah State, Villanova, Washington, and Washington State.
Tulsa then heads to Charlotte, North Carolina for The American Championships on November 1 before the NCAA postseason begins on November 14.
