HOPEWELL, N.J. — Coming off a stellar junior season at Siena, University of Tulsa senior Teresa Seppala was named to the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award Watch list, presented by Her Hoop Stats Wednesday. She is the second Golden Hurricane hooper to represent Tulsa on the watch list after Delanie Crawford made the list ahead of last season.

A guard from Tampere, Finland, Seppala appeared and started in 28 games last year for the Saints. She led the team with 16.7 points per game as well as 1.7 steals per outing, while averaging 6.2 rebounds per contest, marking the third consecutive year averaging that mark or better over the course of a season. She set the Siena single-season free throw percentage record at 92.6% which ranked sixth nationally and scored in double-figures in 25 games, including nine with 20+ points and one over 30. She would end the year with two double-doubles.

"Teresa is an accomplished player who blends great versatility on both ends of the court," Tulsa Head Coach Angie Nelp said. "Her commitment to the game not only reflects talent, but a tremendous work ethic, and she inspires those around her to achieve greatness."

As the first Finnish player to ever play for the Golden Hurricane, Seppala holds career averages of 13.7 points (1,189), 6.4 boards (558) and 1.7 assists (145) per game, while shooting 44.5% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 83.3% at the line in 74 starts spanning 87 total games played. She was a two-time MAAC First Team All-Conference choice, three-time MAAC player of the Week, a two-time MAAC All-Academic selection and made one appearance on the NCAA Lineup of the Week.

The Golden Hurricane women will start their season at home on November 5 in the Donald W. Reynolds Center against New Orleans at 6:30 p.m.
