DALLAS, Texas – The Tulsa men's tennis team collected seven total wins over the weekend at the American Individual Championships, highlighted by strong performances from Reiya Komagata and Victor Tosetto in both singles and doubles play.

In doubles action, Komagata and Tosetto picked up two victories, defeating pairs from UTRGV (7(8)-6(6)) and one from Harvard and SMU (7-5). Connor Doig and Calum Jestin also earned a win, topping UTRGV 6-2 before falling to a Texas Tech duo 4-6.

On the singles side, Komagata opened with a 7(7)-6(4), 4-2 victory over UTRGV's Ivo Isqueiro, who retired due to injury, before falling in his remaining matches. Tosetto earned two straight-set wins—6-3, 6-3 over UTRGV's Sam Whitehead and 6-3, 7(10)-6(8) against BYU's Caden Hasler—while dropping matches to Texas Tech's Ludovico Vaccari and SMU's Noah McDonald. Doig battled through three singles contests, picking up a gritty 6-2, 6(5)-7(7), 7-5 win against UTRGV's Santiago Serrano Huidobro before narrowly falling in his next two matches. Jestin's singles run was cut short after withdrawing due to injury.

The Tulsa men will return to action later this week, with the team splitting travel to two tournaments. Nikita Volonski will appear in singles and Jestin and Doig will play doubles at the ITA Sectional Championships, while Gus Tettamble, Taco Takeshi, Komagata and Tosetto will compete in both singles and doubles at the OSU Invite.
