NEXT UP
• Tulsa returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Boca Raton, Fla., to face Florida Atlantic University Owls.
• This will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the programs, with FAU holding a 3-1 series lead.
• Tulsa's lone win in the series came in 2015, a 47-44 overtime victory at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
• Tulsa has never won in Boca Raton, where this will be the third meeting between the teams.
• The programs first met in 2014, followed by 2015, and have renewed the series annually since 2023.

LAST TIME
• The last time the Golden Hurricane was in action came on Oct. 25, when Tulsa hosted Temple at H.A. Chapman Stadium. TU came up just short, falling 38-37 in overtime. The matchup against Temple marked Tulsa's 100th Homecoming game.
• Tulsa opened the contest with an 11-play, 66-yard drive capped by a 36-yard field goal from Seth Morgan. The Golden Hurricane has scored on its opening drive in four of eight games this season (3 TDs, 1 FG).
• TU also opened the second half with a 75-yard scoring drive, ending in a touchdown pass from Baylor Hayes to Grayson Tempest. The Golden Hurricane has now scored on its first second-half drive in six of eight games this season. This touchdown for Tempest was his first career touchdown.
• Tulsa's offense totaled 447 yards, marking the second-highest output of the season and the third game with 400+ yards in 2025.
• Baylor Hayes set career highs with 296 passing yards and three touchdowns on 19-of-31 passing.
• Hayes now has four 200-yard passing games this season, tying T.J. Rubley (1987) and Josh Blankenship (1999) for the second-most by a Tulsa freshman quarterback.
• Josh Smith posted a career-best 112 yards on four receptions, becoming the first Tulsa freshman with a 100-yard game since Joseph Williams (126 yards vs. USF, 11/23/24).
• Defensively, Ray Coney paced the team with 13 tackles (2 solo, 1.0 TFL), while Zach Williams recorded a career-high 10 tackles (4 solo, 1.0 TFL).

BALL HAWK GREEN
• On Oct. 28, Elijah Green was named one of 15 semifinalists for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award, presented by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and the Jim Thorpe Association. Green is the only player from the American Conference to make the semifinalist list.
• He becomes just the third Golden Hurricane to be named a Thorpe Award semifinalist since 2012, joining Dexter McCoil (2012) and Allie Green IV (2020).
• Green has been a takeaway machine this season, leading both the nation and the American Conference with five interceptions.
• He is one of only five FBS players with five or more interceptions in 2025, joining Bishop Fitzgerald (USC), Louis Moore (Indiana), Ahmaad Moses (SMU), and Boogie Trotter (Marshall).
• Green opened the season with an interception vs. Abilene Christian, added a fumble recovery at New Mexico State, and recorded two first-quarter interceptions vs. Navy — his first career multi-interception game.
• He matched that performance with two more interceptions at Memphis, becoming the first Tulsa player since 2013 to record multiple two-interception games in a season.
• His five interceptions are the most by a Tulsa defender since Shawn Jackson (2013). The program record for a single season is eight, set by Nate Harris in 1984.
• Green also set a career high with 10 tackles vs. Tulane, marking his first double-digit tackle game.
• Through eight games, he has totaled 42 tackles, five interceptions, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery, ranking fifth on the team in tackles.

HAYES ON THE RISE FOR THE GOLDEN HURRICANE
• Redshirt freshman quarterback Baylor Hayes continues to show impressive growth under center for TU.
• In Tulsa's last game against Temple, Hayes set single-game career highs with 296 passing yards, and three touchdown passes, marking the second consecutive week he set new personal bests in both categories.
• His 296 passing yards rank seventh all-time among Tulsa freshman quarterbacks, while his three touchdown passes are tied for the third-most by a Tulsa freshman.
• Hayes has now recorded four 200-yard passing games this season, tying T.J. Rubley (1987) and Josh Blankenship (1999) for the second-most all-time among Tulsa freshman quarterbacks.
• The week prior at East Carolina, Hayes threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns, both career highs at the time.
• On the year, Hayes is averaging 222.3 passing yards per game, which ranks sixth among quarterbacks in the American Conference.
• With 1,334 passing yards this season, Hayes ranks sixth on Tulsa's all-time freshman single-season chart.
• His nine passing touchdowns tie him for fourth on the freshman single-season list with Kirk Francis (2024) and Seth Boomer (2018).
• Nationally, Hayes' nine touchdown passes and 1,334 yards both rank among the top 10 freshman quarterbacks in the FBS this season.
• Hayes has been a major part of Tulsa's explosive passing attack, accounting for 15 of the team's 23 completions of 20+ yards, including the longest play of the season - a 72-yard touchdown to tight end Brody Foley against Tulane.

FOLEY EMERGING AS ONE OF THE NATION'S TOP TIGHT ENDS
• Tight end Brody Foley continues to shine for the Golden Hurricane, turning in another standout performance against Temple on Oct. 25. Foley recorded his first career multi-touchdown game, hauling in two receiving touchdowns and tying his career high with six receptions.
• Foley became the first Tulsa tight end with two receiving touchdowns in a game since Connor Vaughn vs. Northwestern State in 2024.
• His multi-TD effort was also the first by any Tulsa player since Joseph Williams caught three touchdowns vs. East Carolina on Nov. 14, 2024.
• In addition to his receiving scores, Foley added his first career rushing touchdown, accounting for three of Tulsa's touchdowns against Temple.
• Foley had a career game at East Carolina (Oct. 16), posting six receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown. His 100-yard outing marked the first by a Tulsa tight end since Clay Sears had 105 yards at UAB (Oct. 15, 2011). His 126 receiving yards are the 13th most by any receiver in the American Conference this season.
• For his ECU performance, Foley earned John Mackey Award Honorable Mention, given weekly to the nation's top tight ends.
• Foley's six receiving touchdowns this season are tied for the most among FBS tight ends (with Baylor's Michael Trigg) and mark the fourth-most by a Tulsa tight end since 2003.
Rank Name Year Touchdowns
1. Garrett Mills 2023 10
2. Garrett Mills 2005 9
3. Clay Sears 2011 7
4. Brody Foley 2025 6
• Foley is averaging 16.1 yards per reception, ranking eighth in the American Conference. Among FBS tight ends with 15+ receptions, his average ranks fifth nationally.
• He ranks second on the team with 387 receiving yards, the most by a Tulsa tight end since 2011 (Clay Sears – 469), and 10th among FBS tight ends overall. Of those top 10, only two come from Group of Five programs — Foley and New Mexico's Dorian Thomas (452).
• Against Tulane, Foley recorded a 72-yard touchdown reception, the longest play of the season for Tulsa and the longest of his career.
• A proven scoring threat, five of his eight games this season have included a touchdown, and his first two career receptions both went for scores.
• Foley also brings big-play ability, with six receptions of 20+ yards this season.

RAY CONEY ANCHORS TULSA DEFENSE
• Ray Coney has been the backbone of the Golden Hurricane defense through eight games, leading the American Conference and ranking seventh nationally with 89 total tackles.
• Coney averages 11.1 tackles per game, the top mark in the American and among the top five nationally — the only American Conference player ranked in the top five. The top five tacklers per game in the nation can be found here:
Rank Name School Tackles Per Game
1. Owen Long Colorado State 12.9
2. Quinton Urwiler Northern Illinois 12.1
3. Micah Davey UTEP 11.8
4. Red Murdock Buffalo 11.7
5. Ray Coney Tulsa 11.1
• He is on pace to become the first Tulsa player to record 100 tackles in a season since Kendarin Ray (131 in 2023).
• The last TU linebacker to reach the century mark was Justin Wright (101 in 2022).
• Coney has logged six double-digit tackle games this season, including:
                – 14 vs. Abilene Christian (Aug. 30)
                – 14 vs. Navy (Sept. 13)
                – 13 at Oklahoma State (Sept. 19)
                – 13 vs. Temple (Oct. 25)

• He has led the team in tackles in six of eight games this season.
• On Oct. 25, Coney recorded back-to-back double-digit tackle performances for the second time this season (Temple and ECU; previously OSU and Navy), becoming the first TU player to accomplish the feat since Kendarin Ray (2023).
• He added his first sack of the year (seventh career) at Oklahoma State and has contributed 4.0 TFL, two pass breakups, and three QB hurries on the season.
• Coney's career-high for tackles in a season came in 2024 at ETSU (97).
• In 2024, Gavin Potter (75) and Dayne Hodge (60) led TU in total tackles.
• Entering 2025, Coney was recognized with multiple preseason honors:
                – Second-Team All-AAC (Phil Steele)
                – Fourth-Team All-AAC (Athlon Sports)
                – East-West Shrine Bowl 1,000 Player Watch List (only TU player selected)

AIR AND GROUND EXPLOSIVES
• The Golden Hurricane continued to produce big plays in the game against Temple, as Baylor Hayes connected with three different receivers for gains of 35+ yards.
• Of Tulsa's 12 plays of 35 or more yards this season, eight have come through the air from Hayes, including four connections with tight end Brody Foley.
• The Hayes-to-Foley duo has delivered TU's longest play of the season, a 72-yard touchdown pass against Tulane.
• In the first quarter vs. Tulane, Hayes also connected with Grayson Tempest on a trick play for a 51-yard gain — TU's first pass of 50+ yards this season and the longest reception of Tempest's career.
• On the year, Tulsa has totaled 12 plays of 35+ yards — nine via the pass and three on the ground — with the last seven all coming through the air.
• The Golden Hurricane ground game has also been effective in generating chunk plays, producing 18 runs of 15+ yards, led by Dominic Richardson's seven explosive carries.
• Through the air, TU has recorded 23 completions of 20+ yards, including seven against Temple, with Josh Smith hauling in three of those big gains.

BOOMING FROM DOWN UNDER
• Angus Davies made his American football debut as a true freshman in 2023 and enters his third season with the Golden Hurricane in 2025.

•  In 2025, Davies is averaging 44.0 yards per punt, pinning opponents inside the 20 17 times. His 44.0-yard average ranks third in the American and 36th nationally.
•  In 2025 he has booted an 80-yard punt vs. Abilene Christian — the fourth-longest in TU history, longest since 2009, second-longest in American Conference history, and the longest in the NCAA this season. Below are the top four longest punts in TU history.
