
Tulsa Football Lands Six on All-Conference Teams From The American

DALLAS – The University of Tulsa football team placed six players on the First and Second All-Conference Teams the American Conference announced on Tuesday.

Brody Foley (TE), Ray Coney (LB) and Elijah Green (CB) were named first team honors, while Dominic Richardson (RB), J'Dan Burnett (DL) and Lento Smith Jr. (S) earned second team honors. The three First Team selections are the most since Tulsa placed three on the first team in 2020.

Foley is the first Tulsa tight end to earn First Team All-Conference since TU joined the American in 2014. Foley led the Golden Hurricane in receiving yards on the season with 528 on 37 receptions. He scored nine touchdowns (seven receiving; two rushing), which was the fourth most touchdowns scored by a player in the American Conference this season. Against ECU, Foley tallied a career-high 126 yards on six receptions. He set a career-high with seven receptions against Oregon State.

Coney is the first TU player to earn First Team All-Conference honors since 2023. He led the American Conference in tackles with 129 (40 solo; 89 assist). Seven and a half of those tackles were tackles for a loss and he had two sacks. Coney also had four QB Hurries and two pass breakups. He had double-digit tackles in eight of the 12 games for the Golden Hurricane including finishing the season with 10 or more tackles in three straight games. He had a season best 14 tackles against Navy.

Green is the first player from TU to earn First Team honors as a corner since 2019. He led the Golden Hurricane and the American Conference with five interceptions on the season. The five interceptions are the third most in the nation. Green finished fifth on the team in tackles with 59. Green had a career-high two interceptions against Navy and Memphis this season.

Richardson paced the Golden Hurricane offense this season as he had 1,195 all-purpose yards. He became the 23rd player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season and the first since 2021. He finished with 1,065 rushing yards the third best mark in the American Conference. He rushed for a career-high 203 yards leading Tulsa to a comeback win at Army on Nov. 22. Besides rushing, Richardson had 20 receptions for 130 yards. He scored five touchdowns on the season.

Burnett lead Tulsa and was second in the American with 6.5 sacks. He finished the season with 9.5 tackles for a loss and 28 tackles on the season. He had a sack in the first seven games for the Golden Hurricane this season. He had one forced fumble, QB hurry and pass breakup on the season.

Smith Jr. finished second on the team with 79 tackles from the safety position. He had a key interception that helped lead the Golden Hurricane back from 11-points down at Army on Nov. 22. He had four pass breakups and two tackles for a loss. Against Oklahoma State, he had 10 tackles, which is a season best. He started all 12 games for the Golden Hurricane in the defensive backfield.
