Popoola Named Honorable Mention in American Conference Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas — Tulsa guard Ade Popoola was named an American Conference Honorable Mention in the league's weekly awards on Monday. The junior played a huge part in Tulsa's thrilling road win over Western Kentucky on Friday.
 
The junior had a career-high 17 points, connecting four times from three-point range. He was 5-of-6 from the free throw line and added four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Popoola was also the in-bounder on the eventual game-winning shot at the buzzer in the team's 82-81 comeback win at WKU.
 
The Golden Hurricane return to the court at 2 p.m. on Monday to host Denver in the team's final non-conference contest of the 2025-26 season. After a break, the team starts conference play at home against Rice with tip-off from the Reynolds Center scheduled to be at 1 p.m. on December 31 with the game broadcast on ESPNU.
