
Tulsa Snags 10 Podium Finishes at Crimson & Gold Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Tulsa track & field team opened their indoor season with a strong performance Saturday at the Crimson & Gold Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan., totaling 10 podium finishes and three event victories across the meet.
Tulsa had a strong day in the field events, with Isabella Famigletti earning a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump at 5.60 meters, while Rylie Hancock placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.11 meters.
On the track, Famigletti also paced the women's 60 meters with a ninth-place finish in 7.68 seconds. Sajara Hill (7.98) and Charlotte Gough (8.14) followed in the same event. Tyler Priest clocked a 6.94 in the men's 60 meters. In the hurdle events, Colin Madison finished 14th in the men's 60-meter hurdles (8.35), while Jaylin VonWald placed 20th in the women's race (9.33).
Distance events were a major highlight for Tulsa. The men's mile featured a dominant first-second finish as Andrew Lutkenhaus claimed the victory in 4:13.96, followed closely by Jiri Ceska in 4:16.43. Tulsa placed five runners inside the top 10, with Joseph Snyder (7th – 4:21.03), Ayden Taylor (8th – 4:21.78), and Harry Ormiston (9th – 4:21.97) all scoring strong finishes. Karson Pillow and Graham Mitchell added top 25 results.
On the women's side, Sara Morefield finished runner-up in the mile at 5:01.88, with Kathryn Koonts close behind in third (5:02.96). Makenzie Crum placed 39th.
In the 300 meters, Evan Sanni-Thomas led the charge for Tulsa on the men's side, placing seventh in 34.09. Colin Madison, Luke Finzen, Tyler Priest, and Jonathan Lee also competed. For the women, Kamree Dye finished ninth (40.08), and Famigletti added a 13th-place finish.
The women's 600-yard run was another standout event as Tulsa swept the top three spots. Annie-May Cannings captured first in 1:22.99, followed by Lianne Holtermann in second (1:23.68) and Gabbie Washington in third (1:26.29). Jaylin VonWald, Kayla Meason, and Kennedy Johnson rounded out a strong group performance. On the men's side, Remington Martin (8th), Richard Matthews (9th), and Jayden Williams (17th) all posted solid times.
In relay action, Tulsa's women's 4x400 meter team of Washington, Alexis Cavin, Holtermann, and Cannings finished second overall in 3:47.27. The Tulsa B squad placed 17th. The men's 4x400 teams placed ninth (Tulsa A), 11th (Tulsa B), and 23rd (Tulsa C).
Distance dominance continued in the men's 3000 meters as Graham Stevener won the event in 8:32.64. Brady Korsmo followed with a third-place finish (8:40.59), while Graham Mitchell and Ayden Taylor placed seventh and eighth, respectively.
The Golden Hurricane return to the track again in the new year, traveling to Manhattan, Kan., on Jan. 16 to compete in the Thane Baker Invitational.
