FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Tulsa women's basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the 2025 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), with the full bracket, sites and pairings announced on Monday, March 17.
The WNIT is one of three women's college basketball postseason tournaments with the goal of showcasing the depth and competitive excellence found throughout the sport. Tulsa is one of 37 at-large teams in the tournament field and is joined by fellow American Athletic Conference members North Texas and UAB.
This will be the Golden Hurricane's eighth postseason appearance in program history and third under fourth-year Head Coach Angie Nelp. Nelp is 3-2 in postseason tournaments after taking Tulsa to the second round in the 2022 WNIT and leading the Hurricane to a quarterfinal run last year in the 2024 WBIT.
TU enters its fifth WNIT with a 2-4 record in the tournament with advancements to the second round in 2015 and 2022.
The Hurricane enters postseason action with a 17-14 record and finished 11-7 for fifth in The American. Tulsa won its last five regular season contests leading up to the AAC Championship, which included a 10-point home win over eventual conference champion South Florida and a comeback win from down 20 points on the road against UAB.
For the third straight season, Tulsa surpassed 10 home wins, while adding four wins against teams with a higher NET ranking and earned six nonconference victories.
The Hurricane ended the regular season ranked first in the conference for assists (14.7) and steals (10.03), second for 3-point field goals made (8.33), third for turnover margin (+1.97), fourth for field goal percentage defense (.384) and fifth for scoring offense (67.73) and assist/turnover ratio (0.87) on a per game basis.
Three Tulsa players average double-figure scoring, including unanimous first team all-conference honoree Delanie Crawford (16.9 ppg), sophomore Elise Hill (10.9 ppg) and sophomore Mady Cartwright (10.5 ppg). Junior Hadley Periman enters the postseason with averages of 8.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 blocks per game.
Along with her second all-conference honor, Crawford also earned the American's Ambassador Award for sportsmanship and community service, while Kennedi Alexander was tabbed All-Freshman Team.
