IRVING, Texas — After a dominant performance against two of the top American Athletic Conference teams last week, Tulsa men's tennis junior Luis Felipe Miguel has been named the AAC Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Hailing from Goiânia, Brazil, Miguel was perfect for a combined 4-0 record across the Golden Hurricane's home wins over Charlotte and Rice. He was the clinching point for TU's 4-3 victory over the 49ers, delivering a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 winner in the No. 2 position. He followed with a strong straight-set decision (6-1, 6-2) two days later in the 4-3 thriller against Rice.
In doubles play, Miguel, with his redshirt sophomore partner Gus Tettamble, earned 6-3 wins to help Tulsa secure the doubles point in both contests.
