FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Tulsa women's and men's track and field teams continued their outdoor season Saturday at the Arkansas Spring Invitational, putting together 19 new personal bests and two trips to the podium at John McDonnell Field.
Women
Nine women improved on their best times Saturday, including senior Avery Hill, who beat her career-high in the outdoor 3,000m (10:50.35) by nearly 17 seconds, crossing the line at 10:33.73. Her teammates Sopha McNerney (fifth) and Amy Morefield (ninth) each surpassed their personal bests in the event.
Both of Tulsa's 400m-hurdle women raised the bar for themselves as freshmen Jaylin VonWald (1:04.14) finished 12th and Anaya Little (1:07.52) took 15th. Little also added a fourth-place finish in the triple jump, landing at 11.16m (36'7.5") for the fifth-best mark in program history.
Men
Redshirt freshman Brady Korsmo led a pack of four Hurricane with a podium finish in the 800m open, cruising to a 1:53.79 mark for third place overall and a new personal best.
Grant Musick recorded the Hurricane's second podium finish. He sped out to a personal best of 3:57.45 for third place.
