Tulsa Softball Travels to Missouri State and UTSA

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team (19-26, 7-14 The American) hits the road for four straight games starting with a midweek game against Missouri State on Tuesday night before heading to San Antonio to take on the UTSA Roadrunners in a conference series.

TULSA vs. THE FIELD
Missouri State (14-30, 12-9 MVC) – This will be the second meeting of the season for Tulsa and Missouri State as they met earlier this season in the I-10 Border Classic in Beaumont, Texas. Missouri State came away with a 6-0 victory. This will be the 53rd all-time meeting between these two programs.

UTSA (18-28, 4-17 The American) – The Golden Hurricane is 12-8 all-time against the Roadrunners and 5-2 in road games in the series. Tulsa won the series against UTSA last year at Collins Family Softball Complex. TU came away with a 10-0 (5 inn.), 8-0 (5 inn.), wins before dropping the series finale. The last time these two teams met in San Antonio was during the 2016 season when Tulsa went to UTSA Classic. TU came away with two wins over UTSA during that tournament.

Senior Maci Cole has accomplished a lot since she has stepped foot on the TU campus. Over her senior year, Cole has worked on a mechanical engineering project, which is part of a NASA initiative. On the field, Cole leads Tulsa to batting average (.336) and home runs (9). She enters this week on a 17-game hitting streak that started in the second game of a doubleheader at Western Carolina. Â

Senior infielder Maci Cole has drawn a team-leading 32 walks at the plate this season, which is the second most in The American. Her 0.71 walks per game is tied for second in the league and 50th in the NCAA.

MAGNIFICENT MAURA
Senior pitcher Maura Moore has been busy, throwing 132.0 innings, almost half of Tulsa's innings for the season and the most by any Tulsa pitcher. She the fourth in The American for innings pitched and 63rd nationally. She leads the conference in games started (28) and tied for complete games (10), ranking 3rd and 84th in the NCAA, respectively.
