Olson Wins the Collegiate St. Louis Women’s Championship

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Sammie Olson became the first winner of the Collegiate Golf Series inaugural St. Louis Women's Championship this past weekend. The event was held at Whitmoor Country Club.
 
Olson raced out to a two-shot lead after the first round as she shot one under par 71. After 36 holes, Olson's lead grew to seven strokes and was the best score of any amateur in the field.
 
Following a third round of six-over par 78, Olson secured the title with a round of two-under par 70 to claim the trophy. She was five-over par 293 (71-74-78-70) over the four rounds.
 
She led the field with the most birdies (12) and averaged three birdies per round. She had five bridies in the first round and three in the final round. Along with leading with birdies, she led the way with 47 pars for the tournament.
