Tulsa Tennis Teams and 13 Student-Athletes Earn ITA Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Tulsa men's and women's tennis teams were recognized as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Teams while 13 Golden Hurricane tennis student-athletes – seven women and six men – were named Division I ITA Scholar-Athletes, announced Monday.
 
Teams with a 3.2 GPA or higher received all-academic status. The Tulsa men's team put together a 3.35 GPA for the 2024-25 academic school year, while the women's team boasted a 3.69 GPA.
 
The seven TU women earning Scholar-Athlete honors include Isabella Basson, Maria Berlanga Bandera, Lily Hutchings, Mariana Manyoma Velasquez, Ana Naranjo Martinez, Tayla Wilmot and Myroslava Zelenchuk. Hutchings and Naranjo finish their careers as four-time Scholar-Athletes, and Berlanga and Wilmot are now two-time winners.
 
The Golden Hurricane men's ITA Scholar-Athletes include Timothy Carlsson Seger, Connor Doig, Calum Jestin, Will Pellegrini, Nikola Puntaric and Gus Tettamble.
 
To be recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year.
 
In 2024-25, 2,456 student-athletes and 381 programs at the Division I level earned ITA academic honors. There were 1,462 women and 994 men who achieved ITA Scholar-Athlete status, while 222 women's teams and 159 men's programs were named all-academic.
