KOTKA, Finland — University of Tulsa and All-American women's basketball standout Delanie Crawford has signed her first professional contract with Peli-Karhut, a club based out of Kotka, Finland.
Peli-Karhut is the most successful Finnish professional club of all time with nine Finnish national championship titles, including the 2024-25 title, and multiple appearances in major European tournaments, such as EuroBasket and EuroCup.
"I think my journey at TU played such a big role in preparing me for the next level," said Crawford. "The coaching staff challenged me to become a more complete player, and I learned how to lead a team and push through adversity. The university as a whole taught me how to become a pro on and off the court. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who poured into me at TU and has helped me get to this point!"
Crawford finished her career at TU as a four-year starter, a two-time all-conference selection and a WBCA All-American. In 100 starts across 124 games played, she had eight double-doubles, 86 double-digit scoring games, including 26 20+ scoring contests and four 30+ scoring games to go with eight double-figure rebounding contests as a Golden Hurricane. She carried career averages of 13.9 points (1,725), 5.1 rebounds (636) and 2.6 assists (320).
She ended her career ranked first in program history for 3-point field goals made (261), third for career points (1,725), fifth for field goals made (588), eighth for free throws made (288), ninth in free throw percentage (.821) and assists (320) and 10th for rebounds (636). Crawford also holds the record for most 3-pointers in a single season (99 in 2023-24).
"Delanie's rise to the pros is a testament to her relentless hard work, unwavering dedication, and an unbreakable commitment to excellence," said head Tulsa women's basketball coach Angie Nelp. "She didn't just chase her dreams—she built them with every practice, every challenge, and all while leading our culture of love, trust, and work."
In Nelp's 17-year collegiate coaching career, Crawford becomes the 20th player under Nelp to sign with a professional club.
