TULSA, Okla. – Victor Tosetto was the lone Golden Hurricane to advance on the opening day of prequalifying at the ITA All-American Championships, securing his spot in the round of 128.

Playing the final match of the day for Tulsa, Tosetto defeated Middle Tennessee's Jonasz Dziopak in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-0. He'll return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Arizona's Pepijn Bastiaansen, with a chance to move on to the qualifying round.

Tulsa's day began with Calum Jestin, who came out strong by taking the first set 6-1 against Kentucky's Mikael Arseneault before dropping the next two sets 6-2 and 6-1. Reiya Komagata followed with a straight-set loss to Georgia's Derrick Chen, 6-2, 6-0.

In a hard-fought battle, Gus Tettamble claimed the opening set 6-4 against UNC's Niel Ratiu, but Ratiu rallied to win a tight second set 7-5 before closing out the match 6-2 in the third.

Tosetto will aim to join two other Tulsa teammates in the qualifying round on Monday, while the final two Golden Hurricane players will enter the field when the main draw begins Wednesday.
