Qualifying Rounds Concluded Tuesday at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa battled through another day at the ITA All-American Championships, highlighted by a hard-fought double's consolation victory for Connor Doig and Reiya Komagata.

Doig and Komagata outlasted a Notre Dame pair in a tight match, falling 7(7)-6(5) in the opening set before rallying for a 6-4 win in the second. The duo carried that momentum into the tiebreak, edging out a 12-10 victory to secure the win.

Nikita Volonski was the lone Golden Hurricane player to compete outside of consolation rounds on the day, but was defeated by Wake Forest's Luca Pow, 6-2, 6-2.

In singles consolation play, Timothy Carlsson Seger pushed Clemson's Henrik Bladelius through three sets. Carlsson Seger dropped the first set 6-2, but battled back to take the second 6-3, before ultimately falling in a third-set tiebreaker, 7(7)-6(4).

Looking ahead, Takeshi Taco will open main draw singles tomorrow at 11 a.m. against Ohio State's Alexander Bernard. Timothy Carlsson Seger and Victor Tosetto will matchup with a duo from Princeton at 2:00 p.m., while Volonksi and and Taco will face off against a pair from Mississippi State at 3 p.m. in the main draw doubles.
