Tulsa’s Dora Toman Earns Fifth American Freshman of the Week Award

Hannah Riddick Also Picks up Third American Weekly Honorable Mention
IRVING, Texas. — The University of Tulsa women's basketball team picked up another pair of weekly American Conference honors on Monday as Dora Toman earned her fifth Freshman of the Week award and Hannah Riddick was named to the Weekly Honorable Mention list. The Golden Hurricane is the most awarded team of the conference this season with 13 individual weekly honors thus far.
Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Toman remains the league leader in Freshman of the Week awards with the next-closest player having only two. Toman has also garnered the second-most Freshman of the Week awards in Tulsa history, sitting only behind Temira Poindexter, who had eight in 2021-22.
Toman continues to make her presence felt at every aspect of the game for the Golden Hurricane. Against Rice and North Texas, she averaged 12 points and had team-leading marks of six rebounds and three steals per game. She led TU's defense with four steals against Rice before pushing Tulsa to an 11-point comeback win at North Texas with 16 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double. She was also perfect from the free throw line this week, going 6-for-6.
Tulsa is now 6-0 when Toman scores 10 or more points in a game.
A redshirt senior forward from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Riddick dominated the paint for TU with 19 points per game, making 17-of-32 (.531) field goals under the basket. She also averaged 2.5 rebounds, two steals and 1.5 assists per contest.
Riddick led Tulsa in scored for both games with 22 points against Rice for her fifth 20-point game of the season before putting up 16 points at North Texas.
Tulsa will continue American Conference action in the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Tuesday, January 27, against Florida Atlantic (8-11, 2-5 American) at 6:30 p.m.
