Tulsa Shuts Out ORU as Carlsson Seger Reaches 100 Career Wins

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men's tennis earned a 4-0 victory over Oral Roberts (3-4) on Tuesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, improving to 5-3 on the season.
During the match, senior Timothy Carlsson Seger reached a milestone with his doubles win, earning the 100th victory of his career. The Taby, Sweden, product has won 42 singles, and 58 doubles matches through his four years at Tulsa.
Carlsson Seger and Nikita Volonski picked up a 6-2 decision over Cayden Cheek and Rodrigo Guijarro, while Gus Tettamble and Ruben Fernandez matched the score with a 6-2 win against Parv Nage and Christian Pensavalle to secure the doubles point for the Golden Hurricane. The No. 1 doubles match was left unfinished after Tulsa had already clinched the point.
Tulsa carried the momentum into singles play, taking three straight matches to close out the dual. Connor Doig struck first with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lucas Couy on court five. Carlsson Seger followed with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory against Ricardo Filho at No. 2, before Volonski clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Nage on the top court.
Three additional singles matches were underway when the dual was decided, with Tulsa holding leads on all three courts.
The Golden Hurricane will be back in action at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center tomorrow, as they host No. 13 Oklahoma at 6 p.m.
