TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa secured a 2–0 victory against the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Sunday at Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium. The home team capitalized with a goal in each half to maintain its unbeaten start to the season.

The match began with Tulsa and Little Rock vying for early control, as Maddy Nigey and Reese Potts took their positions as goalkeepers. Aniya Facen put Tulsa ahead early in the match, firing a 9th minute goal assisted by Presley Boyd and Brooklyn Hubbard, following a shot from Boyd that struck the top woodwork. The goal continued Facen's streak of recording at least a point in every match so far. Little Rock's offense tested Nigey with several attempts, including a notable save against Laney Palmer's shot in the 13th minute. Facen missed a penalty kick at the 26th minute, but despite this, she remained the only player in the match to record more than two shots. Tulsa maintained its 1–0 lead into halftime.

Late in the match, Kyrsten Kizer converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute, following a red card issued to Little Rock's Astrid With. This goal was Kizer's first for Tulsa. The match was marked by frequent fouling, with both teams receiving multiple yellow cards. Despite a late attempt by Reese Potts that was saved by Abi Dolding, Little Rock was unable to score, leaving the final tally at 2–0 in favor of Tulsa.

Kizer, who contributed both a goal and an assist in her initial three games, emphasized the importance of maintaining possession without rushing the ball forward. "It's our mentality. We want to be a team that possesses the ball, that gets a lot of passes in a game, but doesn't force it forward," Kizer stated. She highlighted the team's cohesive mindset, saying, "The girls around me, we are all on the same page."

Tulsa holds a record of 3-0-0. Little Rock stands at 1-2-1 overall.

Looking ahead, Tulsa will travel to face Oklahoma on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. CT. The match will take place at John Crain Field in Norman, Oklahoma.
