2021-22
OUTDOOR: Competed in two meets … set a personal best of 27.56m in the javelin throw for 6th place at the ORU Invitational.
INDOOR: Competed in 4 meets … clocked a personal best of 1:44.47 in the 600m dash at the Wooo Pig Classic … recorded personal bests in the 300m dash (43.86) and long jump (5.35m/17’6.75”) events... at the Arkansas Invitational, clocked personal bests in the 200m (27.18) and 800m (2:36.58) dashes … recorded a personal best of 9.00 in the 60m hurdles at the Gorilla Classic. … took part in the pentathlon with a personal best of 3,250 points, placing 15th overall at the Wichita State Invitational … competed in the Division I Challenge and recorded a personal best of 4’11” in the High Jump.
2020-21
OUTDOOR: Competed in six meets … registered personal best times of 14.16 in the 100m hurdles and 26.46 in the 200m dash at the Arkansas Twilight … had her best performance in the 800m run (2:30.69), high jump (1.58m (5’2.25”)), javelin (24.32m (79’9”)) and shot put (8.11m (26’7.25”)) as part of the heptathlon event at The American Championship … tallied a long jump of 5.12m (16’9.75”) at the John McDonnell Invite.
INDOOR: Ran in both meets … at the Wichita State Invite, had a personal best 883 points in the pentathlon, including a throw of 24’0.25” in the shot-put event … also turned in a personal best time of 27.91 in the 200m dash at the Invite … recorded a personal best high jump of 4’11” at the Division I Challenge … also at the Challenge, turned in a time of 4:07.49 in the 4x400m relay.

INDOOR: Recorded three of four season-bests at the Crimson & Gold Invitational … finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.04 … posted a time of 43.86 in the 300-meter dash … registered a mark of 5.35m (17’ 6.75”) in the long jump … at the Arkansas Invitational, clocked a time of 2:36.58 in the 800-meter run.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner in track and field and cross country at Mustang High School … won three 6A state titles in track and field, two in the 100-meter hurdles and one in the 300-meter hurdles … set school record times of 14.52 and 45.15 in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles, respectively.
PERSONAL: Born Rachel Grace Hamel on May 8, 2001, in Yukon, Okla. … daughter of Keith and Terry Hamel … has one sister … started running track at the age of 13 … in her free time, she works on calligraphy and learning new languages … the most memorable place she’s visited is Panama … gymnast Simone Biles is her favorite professional athlete … majoring in nursing.
