Kaylee Dao Rodriguez is in her third year as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program, joining the team prior to the 2023 season.
While at Tulsa, Rodriguez has helped coach four all-conference players, three all-freshman athletes and helped the Golden Hurricane reach back-to-back conference tournaments for the first time since 2014-15. Tulsa also set the all-time single-season assist record in 2024 with 43 total assists.
TU put together seven wins in the 2024 season and made it back to the American Conference Championship. Leah Diaz took home AAC Second Team All-Conference, Blaine Schutte grabbed Third Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team and Aniya Facen was tabbed to the All-Freshman Team.
In 2023, Rodriguez helped lead the Hurricane to five wins and a spot in the American Athletic Conference Championship for the first time since 2015. Sophomore Jordan Frederick was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference First Team, while Kaylyn Simmons - a second team all-conference selection - and Piper Szafranski received All-Rookie Team accolades.
Rodriguez came to Tulsa after serving the last two years as a West Side Alliance Soccer Club coach. While at WSA, she helped identify key areas of development and designed training structures and practice plans for her players to implement during games.
Rodriguez also served as an assistant to the head coach at Jenks High School (2021-22). In addition, she as coached at Tulsa 918 Futbol Academy (2021-22) and served as a camp counselor at Matt Potter’s Soccer Academy (2015-18).
Rodriguez was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Oklahoma (2015-19). She started in 77 of 79 career contests, had 29 goals, 11 of which were game winners, and five assists for 63 points, and had a career 44.2 shots on goal percentage. Dao Rodriguez finished her career ranked third all-time in program history in goals and second all-time in game-winning goals.
As a senior in 2019, Rodriguez was a Senior CLASS Award first-team All-American, a CoSIDA first-team Academic All-American and a third-team all-Midwest Region selection. She was also a three-time first-team all-Big 12 honoree and was tabbed to the all-Big 12 freshman team in 2015.
A Tulsa native, Rodriguez played for Jenks High School where she was a three-time all-district performer and helped the Trojans claim two conference titles and earn an appearance in the 2013 state finals. She also led the TSC Hurricane to the 2014 North American League Championship and a seventh-place finish at ECNL Nationals.
Rodriguez earned her bachelor’s degree in environmental sustainability from Oklahoma in 2019.
Rodriguez is married to Oscar Rodriguez.
