Jasmine Koonts joined the Tulsa Volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach on February 6, 2023.
 
“We are so excited to add Jasmine to our Hurricane Volleyball family,” said Head Volleyball Coach Ramatowski. “She brings an impressive playing experience with her and understands the game at a high level. Jasmine cares about the athletes and will communicate improvement and growth in a positive and encouraging way. Her charisma combined with her work ethic will no doubt have a positive impact on our program.”
 
Koonts comes to Tulsa after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Texas A&M-Commerce, where she helped the Lions finish third in the Southland Conference for blocks (269) and fourth in blocks per set (2.13). Commerce also finished in the top half of the conference in digs (2,076), digs per set (16.48), service aces (191) and service aces per set (1.52).
 
Before coaching at Commerce, Koonts was an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech for the 2021 season. She specifically worked with the Lady Techster blockers and attackers, while also serving as the camp coordinator, and assisting in recruiting and filming efforts.
 
Koonts’ volleyball coaching experience includes being the head coach for the TCA Volleyball Club in Columbus, Ohio, for one season, working with players ages 16-17. She has also worked as a volleyball camp counselor, providing one-on-one instruction on specific position training and player development for ages 9-18.
 
As a student-athlete, Koonts played middle blocker at Arizona State before transferring to Ohio State. After graduating from Ohio State, where she also served as a creative services intern for the athletic department, she worked as a graduate assistant at Southern Miss in 2020.
 
From Houston, Texas, Koonts received her bachelor’s degree in Sport Industry from Ohio State in 2019. She received her master’s degree in Sport Management from Southern Miss in 2022.
