Volleyball Closes Out Home Schedule With Two WAC Matches

The Golden Hurricane will close a five-match homestand in the friendly confines of the Donald W. Reynolds Center with a pair of WAC matches. On Friday, Nov. 17, TU will host Fresno State at 2 p.m., while San Jose State will be in town on Saturday, Nov. 18, for Tulsa's final home match at 7 p.m.
Fresno State (12-15, 5-8 WAC) won a thrilling five-game match between the two schools earlier in the season at Fresno, 10-15, 6-15, 15-13, 15-8, 15-10. Fresno State holds a 4-0 advantage in the overall series. Cox Cable on channel 9 will televise the match in Tulsa.
The Spartans of San Jose State (19-7, 10-3 WAC) are currently in second place in the WAC by half a match over Nevada. The Spartans won the first match of the season with the Hurricane in San Jose, 15-1, 19-17, 15-6. San Jose State holds a 4-0 advantage in the overall series.
Saturday's match will be the final home match for three TU seniors Shannon Smith, Kristien Van Lierop and Karen Vorraa. Admission for the San Jose State match will be free.
