Volleyball Team Picks up Non-Conference Win

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - The University of Tulsa used 13 team blocks and forced Nova Southeastern into a .000 hitting percentage for a 3-0 (30-21, 30-19, 30-21) victory at the BCC Gymnasium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The non-conference victory was TU's 21st in 25 non-WAC matches dating back to the 2000 season.
Freshman Lindsay Eaves recorded a match-high 11 kills and seven blocks, while fellow freshman Vanessa Thon added 33 assists and five service aces. Seniors Kara Hidinger and Ashley Frogge' also played a big role in TU's victory. Hidinger contributed a team-high nine digs, along with six kills and six blocks. Frogge' recorded eight kills, in addition to five blocks.
The Golden Hurricane will not face the Hurricanes of the University of Miami on Thursday night in Coral Gables, Fla. at 8 p.m. (CST). Tulsa returns home on Thurs, Oct. 18, and returns to WAC play against UTEP. The Hurricane will also face the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech on Sat., Oct. 20. Both matches will be played at the Donald W. Reynolds Center on the TU campus, with both scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
