Hurricanes Win Volleyball Battle of Oceanic Storms

Coral Gables, Fla. - The University of Tulsa Volleyball team suffered a three-game (30-15, 30-15, 30-20) defeat to the University of Miami in non-Western Athletic Conference action. The Hurricanes evened their record at 7-7 in the home match at the Knight Sport Complex in Coral Gables, Fla.
Tulsa was led by the freshman duo of Kristin Bailey and Vanessa Thon. Bailey recorded nine kills, while Thon contributed 24 assists and 10 digs. Fellow freshmen Dana Weddle and Lindsay Eaves added six and five kills, respectively. The two also combined on 12 blocks as well.
The Golden Hurricane (6-8, 1-4 WAC) return back to WAC play with a home match against UTEP on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. TU also hosts Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.
