Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa varsity-8 crew will face stiff competition in the Head of the Charles this Sunday, October 21st, in Boston, Mass.
This will be the second of four regattas that Tulsa will race in this fall season. The Hurricane rowers will compete in the open-8 race, which will be coxswained by Tulsa senior Chrissie Williams, from St. Louis, Mo.
"This is the largest head race of its kind. I think it's actually the largest regatta in the country attracting more competitors and spectators than any other rowing event," said Head Coach Jason Coffman. It's more festival and spectacle than it is racing. But the racing is the finest the country has to offer. To place in the top-25 in our event, which includes numerous national teams from around the world, would be a real success."
