Tulsa Rowers Turn in Solid Showing at Big 12 Invitational

Manhattan, Kansas - The University of Tulsa Varsity-8 and Second Varsity-8 Rowers placed second in the Grand Finals of the Big 12 Invitational at Tuttle Creek in Manhattan, Kansas over the weekend.
Tulsa's First Varsity-8 boat placed second in the Grand Final with a time of 6:34.9, behind Texas' winning time of 6:26.6. The Second Varsity-8 boat also finished in second-place behind Kansas-A boat. The Hurricane clocked a time of 6:52.9, behind Kansas' 6:43.6
In earlier heats, Tulsa captured first-place in both the First Varsity-8 and Second Varsity-8 competition. Tulsa's first varsity-8 boat defeated Kansas State and Colorado to advance to the Grand Final. In second-varsity-8 action, Tulsa defeated Texas, Kansas-B and Washington.
Tulsa will be back on the water May 11-13, when the Hurricane travels to the Central Division Sprints in Oakridge, Tennessee.
