Trumbull, Connecticut - The University of Tulsa women's golf team is picked as the nation's fifth-best team in the preseason rankings by Golf World's College Coaches' Poll.
The Hurricane women are tied with defending national champion Georgia in the preseason rankings, while Duke, Auburn, Texas and Arizona have been chosen as the nation's top-four teams. Rounding out the top-10 women's teams are Southern Cal, Stanford, Oklahoma State and New Mexico State. Fellow Western Athletic Conference member San Jose State is ranked 23rd nationally.
Individually, Tulsa's three-time first-team All-American Stacy Prammanasudh is ranked seventh nationally by Golf World, while sophomore Suzie Fisher is ranked among Golf World's Top-50 Players to Watch.
Prammanasudh returns for her senior season looking to become just the second TU athlete ever to earn first-team All-America honors for the fourth straight year. Former golfer Jody Rosenthal (1982-85) is the only Hurricane athlete to earn such an honor.
In 33 career tournaments, Prammanasudh has placed among the top-20 in 30 events, and has finished among the top-10 in 24 tournaments, winning six collegiate events. Last year, she was presented with prestigious Edith Munson Award, which goes to an All-American with the highest grade point average.
