Volleyball Squad Opens Home WAC Schedule With Fresno State

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa volleyball team will open its Western Athletic Conference schedule at home on Thursday, Oct. 3, when it hosts Fresno State (13-2, 1-1) at 7 p.m., in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Golden Hurricane is looking to improve on last season's 3-10 record in WAC play.

The Bulldogs own a 6-1 advantage in the overall series between the two schools. TU won the last time Fresno State visited Tulsa, as the Hurricane posted a 3-2 (15-13, 12-15, 15-6, 6-15, 15-13) victory. Two of the last three matches between TU and Fresno State have extended to five games.

On Saturday, Tulsa will host San Jose State (5-8, 0-0) for a 7 p.m., WAC match as well. The Spartans have won all seven meetings with Tulsa, including a 3-0 (30-16, 30-12, 30-15) victory last season in San Jose, Calif.

Tickets for the volleyball match are $5 for adults and $3 for youth 16-years-old and younger. TU students get into the match free with a valid TU student ID card.
