Hurricane Hosts 2002 Omni Hotels Central Region Championships

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa will host the 2002 Omni Hotels Women's Tennis Central Region Championships. The Main Draw will begin Thursday, Oct. 24 and continue through Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on The University of Tulsa campus. There is no charge for admission.

TU has four players that have qualified for the Main Draw, including Alicia Pillay, the tournament's first-seeded singles player, Tiffany Smith, Donata Majauskaite and Aleksandra Durska, this year's sixth-seeded singles player.

Durska defeated BSU's Helen Lawson to win the 2001 Women's Central Region Singles Championship. Durska, the schools career leader for singles wins with 94, will attempt to defend her title at this year's Central Region Championships.
