Tulsa, Okla. - The Tulsa Rowing Team is ready to race again, competing Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Head of the Iowa Regatta in Iowa City, Iowa. This multi-conference regatta, one of the biggest regattas held in the mid-west, includes schools from the Big 10, the Big 12 and the WAC.
Tulsa will be racing nine boats, including two Varsity-8, one Varsity-2x, four Varsity-2's and two Varsity-4+ boats.
"The competition will be pretty formidable. It will give us the opportunity to get back into the smaller boats and test ourselves against teams we will be racing in the spring," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.
The Golden Hurricane has been working on finding more speed in the water and having sharper catches, which they hope to see in competition this weekend. "We are definitely getting better," said Harris. "This is a rebuilding year and I am looking forward to another weekend where the team is having fun, but racing hard."
