Volleyball Squad Finishes Road Trip at Rice

Houston, Texas - The University of Tulsa volleyball squad concluded a five match road trip Saturday afternoon at Rice, with a three-game (30-12, 30-28, 30-26) loss to the Owls on Autry Court. Tulsa falls to 17-12 (1-9 WAC), while Rice improves to 16-10 (6-4 WAC).
Sophomores Kristin Bailey and Dana Weddle led the Hurricane attack with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Fellow sophomore Vanessa Thon returned to the setter position to record 34 assists. She also added two kills in two attempts, with nine digs as well. Junior Nathalia Araujo recorded a team-high 13 digs.
The Hurricane returns to the friendly confines of the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Thursday, Nov. 7, to host SMU. The Mustangs won the season's first match on Halloween night, 3-0, in Dallas.
