Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa's women's tennis team improved their home record to 8-1 this season with a 4-3 victory over Houston today at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at The University of Tulsa.

Tulsa (11-6) swept all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead into singles play. TU's No. 1 doubles tandem of junior Alicia Pillay and senior Jana Sedivec jumped out to a 4-3 lead and then won four straight games to defeat Houston's Sarah Borwell and Jen Baccarani, 8-3. The No. 2 doubles contest saw the Hurricane's tandem of junior Aleksandra Durska and sophomore Mariana Barrios cruise past UH's Jo Keene and Kailey Meisinger, 8-1, and capture the all-important doubles point.

In a dramatic come-from-behind finish at the No. 3 doubles spot, sophomore Zoe Buhagiar and recent sophomore walk-on Abby Horn fell behind 3-5 to the Cougars' duo of Kandace Ridgeway and Analia Longoni before winning five straight games to post an 8-5 victory.

In singles play, Pillay pulled off the biggest upset of her career when she upset Houston's Borwell, the nation's 12th-ranked singles player, in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 1 position.
